主要学术成就:
8 j2 W) @% `3 }# \3 t u, y在海洋环流的基本理论,海气相互作用,气候年代际变化,以及大气-海洋耦合模式方面开展了一系列创新性研究,并形成了国际上特有的用“耦合模式手术”方法来研究海洋环流在地球气候系统变化中作用的新体系.主持和参与了美国NOAA,NSF,NASA,DOE及ONR等一系列项目课题.近五年来的主要学术成就包括:揭示了太平洋年代际涛动的振荡源地这一困扰国际气候界多年的问题; 提出了赤道上高阶谐波在热带年代际变化中的作用的理论;利用”耦合模式手术”方法清晰地揭示了76/77 太平洋气候转拟的成因以及对赤道年代际气候的影响;提出了”部分发酵”新的学术思想,从而在中纬度大气环流对海洋的响应的这一领域取得了重要进展; 揭示了北大西洋年代际变化的机制,为预测北大西洋年代际变化提供了重要的理论依据;在国际上最早开展了用耦合模式研究海洋在古气候变化中的作用的研究;在海洋环流的基本理论,包括西边界流理论,海洋温跃层波动理论,绕岛环流理论,中低纬相互作用,深海与边缘海环流的相互作用方面也取得了一定的进展。$ v$ Q C: J+ y q/ {# |+ w; d" v) Y! ^
